Valentía: Mexican-Americans in World War II
A number of key experts and historians appear in this film, including Dr. Maggie Rivas-Rodriguez. She and her staff at the University of Texas at Austin have interviewed hundreds of World War II veterans, creating an oral and visual history to ensure their contributions will not be forgotten.
Veterans from all branches of our armed forces were interviewed in Texas, Arizona, and California. Women who participated in the war effort also describe their experiences. Members of later generations are also included, as they describe their efforts to belatedly honor these men and women who sacrificed so much, and inspired others to fight for freedom in their own ways.
