Main Street America
Jody MillerFifty years ago, downtowns across the United States were thriving centers of activity and enterprise. However, all this changed as small businesses began failing and people moved away from the city and into the suburbs. Main Street America explores the different options for revitalizing and renovating downtowns, and asks the tough question: Are America's aging downtowns worth saving? The program, hosted by journalist Jody Miller, looks for answers in four U.S. cities - Akron, Ohio; Port Gibson, Mississippi; Springfield, Illinois; and Portland, Oregon - to see once-decayed Main Streets in various stages of revitalization.
